A Reynolds County woman, 45-year old Barbara Grillo, went missing around 9:00 at night on Saturday, February 14th and was reported missing about 4:00 in the afternoon on Sunday, February 15th to the Reynolds County Sheriff’s Office. Grillo was found dead the afternoon of Thursday, March 12th in the woods near her home around 2:00 in the afternoon. They do not suspect foul play as of right now. According to Reynolds County Sheriff Tom Volner, the day after Grillo went missing, was when the area received a lot of snow, which may have threw off the scent for the dogs and took them longer to find her. An autopsy has been scheduled.

The Salem Police Department released a report. On Monday, March 9th at 12:13 in the afternoon, officers of the Salem Police Department were detailed to the 900 block of McGrath Lane in reference to an ambulance assist. On arrival, on elderly female was found to be lying on the floor unresponsive. She was transported to the Salem Memorial Hospital by ambulance. She later passed away and the report is still under investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Salem Police Department at 729-4242.

The City of Salem Board of Alderman will conduct their meeting tonight at the City Hall Council Chambers located at 202 North Washington beginning at 7:00 pm. After approval of the agenda and during the hearing of persons, Donna Halbrook is requesting that the Board waive a late fee penalty on her utility bill. Alderwoman Molly Zettel will then update the Board on the Utility Committee Workshop that was held last Thursday for a rate study follow-up. City Administrator Ray Walden will update the board on the items concerning the City of Salem followed by a report by Mayor J. J. Tune. In new and miscellaneous business, Waste Corporation is requesting approval from the Board to set the Spring Clean-Up for the weeks of May 4th and May 11th. Also during business, the City received a bill from the Dent County Clerk for the estimated cost of the April 7th Municipal Election expenses of $3,358.00 and this is a budgeted item. The Board will then vote to go into closed session for the purpose of discussing contracts and personnel. The meeting of the City of Salem Board of Alderman is open to the public.

Residents throughout the Meramec Region may be eligible for up to $5,000 in grant funding for home repairs through the Meramec Community Enhancement Corporation (MCEC). The grant program is geared toward low-income homeowners and allows qualifying homeowners to make home repairs and improvements, creating safer, healthier homes.  Eligible repairs may include furnace and air conditioning replacement, weatherization improvements, roofing, electrical work, ADA accessibility improvements and flooring. In addition to the homeowner meeting income guidelines based on county and household size, the property must be a single-family residence with all property taxes paid, and current property insurance is required. Individuals who have previously received any housing repair grant funds through MCEC are not eligible. The Salem Police Department released reports involving assault, theft of a wallet, loud music, and harassment. On Thursday, March 5th 6:05 in the evening, an officer made contact with a 43-year old Salem male in the 800 block of East Rolla who had an active arrest warrant from Crawford County. He was taken into custody on the warrant and incarcerated pending extradition. Later that night at 7:21, an officer was contacted at the station in reference to an assault. The investigation of the report revealed a 31-year old Salem male had assaulted a 32-year old Salem female in the 600 block of North Henderson. Further investigation led to the arrest of the suspect for 2nd degree domestic assault and felonious restraint. He was incarcerated pending a court appearance. Then at 10:02 that same night, a vehicle was stopped for an investigation of the theft of a wallet. The investigation of the stop led to the arrest of a 33-year old Salem male for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and stealing items valued at $153.00. He was incarcerated pending the application for a warrant. On Saturday, March 7th at 12:41 in the early morning, an officer was detailed to a residence in the 1800 block of South Oak in reference to loud music. The investigation of the report led to the arrest of a 20-year old Salem male for disorderly house. He was issued a summons to appear in court and released. Later that morning at 9:59, an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of North Henderson in reference to loud music. That investigation led to the arrest of a 46-year old Salem male for a disorderly house. He was issued a summons to appear in court and released. That afternoon at 3:17, an officer was contacted at the station in reference to harassment. That investigation revealed that a 56-year old Salem male was continuously making contact by phone and in person with a 52-year old Salem female.  Further investigation led to the arrest of the suspect for harassment. Jake Allen made 28 saves for his fourth shutout of the season and the St. Louis Blues beat the Dallas Stars 3-0 on Sunday to open a key six-game road trip. Vladimir Tarasenko broke a scoreless tie 4:26 into the third period and Alexander Steen added a power-play goal later on as the Blues, trying to tie Nashville atop the Central Division, won for the fourth time in five games. T.J. Oshie added an empty-net goal as the Blues will be in Calgary Tuesday night.

Dean Anna's sacrifice fly in the ninth inning for St. Louis allowed the Cardinals and Minnesota Twins to play to a 6-6 tie in Grapefruit League play Sunday afternoon. Cody Stanley hit a solo home run and Randal Grichuk drove in two for the Cardinals. Carlos Martinez allowed five runs on four hits with a pair of walks in 3 1/3 innings. The Cards are 5-5-1 in the spring and they will face Detroit today.

Troy Tulowitzki and Justin Morneau hit back-to-back home runs as the Colorado Rockies beat the Kansas City Royals 6-2 in Cactus League action. Christian Colon had a two-run single for the Royals will play Cleveland today.

Missouri State football coach Dave Steckel will get to head back to Columbia when the intrastate schools meet at Faurot Field on September 2nd, 2017. The Bears will play Missouri for the first time since 1923.

Funeral services for Pepper Coffman of Licking, age 47, are incomplete, but are under the direction of the Dent County Memorial Chapel.

Funeral mass for Mary “Kathleen” Asbridge of Vichy, age 83, will be held Wednesday at noon at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rolla. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla. Interment will be in the Waynesville Memorial Park in Waynesville.

Graveside services for Sherry Elaine Ruble of Salem, age 61, will be held Wednesday at noon at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 until service time at the cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Family of Sherry Ruble. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dent County Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services William Dexter Worthy Atteberry of Jadwin, age 77, will be held Thursday at 2:00 at the Dent County Memorial Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Soceity.
