Kolten Wong singled home the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning as the St. Louis Cardinals edged the Atlanta Braves, 5-4, in the first split squad game on Monday in Grapefruit League play. Erik Komatsu scored the decisive run and added two RBI for St. Louis. Jaime Garcia started for the Cardinals and gave up a run on three hits and two walks in two innings. In the second game, Ryan Zimmerman crushed a solo home run and added a double as the Washington Nationals beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 8-4. David Freese hit a three-run homer for the Cards. Shelby Miller started for St. Louis and gave up three runs on four hits in 2 1/3 innings of work. The Cardinals will play the New York Mets today at 12:10.

Gregor Blanco knocked in the eventual winning run in the third inning with an RBI single as the San Francisco Giants edged the Kansas City Royals, 2-1 in spring training action on Monday. Alcides Escobar brought home the lone Royals run with an RBI groundout and Luke Hochevar gave up two runs on four hits in three innings for the Royals. The Royals will play the Cincinnati Reds today at 3:05.
The league leading St. Louis Blues will be in Chicago tonight to face the Blackhawks at 7:30 in the second game of their seven game road trip. The Blues are 45-18-7 on the year and lead the NHL with 97 points. You can hear that game on KSMO.
The St. Louis Rams have agreed to trade the No. 2 overall pick in this year's NFL draft to the Washington Redskins. The deal can't become official until this afternoon when the new league year begins, but the Rams and Redskins confirmed the reports by agreeing to terms on the blockbuster deal on Saturday. The Rams are expected to receive Washington's first-round pick this year (No. 6 overall), next year, and in 2014 as well as the Redskins second-round selection (No. 39 overall) in this year's draft.
