Due to inclement weather, the Salem R-80 schools have now missed 10 days. The order of the makeup days as approved on the 2007-2008 calendar is as follows: May 16th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. These scheduled makeup days will take care of the first eight days missed, using the two for one formula for districts that have missed more than six days of school due to weather. One additional makeup day needs to be added to fulfill the state requirement for attendance days. In meeting with Oak Hill R-1. Green Forest R-2, Dent-Phelps R-3 and Northwood R-4 district administrators and using the results of the survey, the recommendation to the Board of Education is to use Monday, March 24th to meet the aforementioned requirement. If two (2) more days are missed, April 25th and March 21st (Good Friday) will be used.
