The 2015 Business Expo will be held from 9:00 in the morning until noon on Saturday, April 11th at the Salem High School Gym. The Business Expo is an excellent opportunity for businesses to advertise their products and services. In the past, only orders could be taken, but new this year, sales can be processed at the Expo. Salem School administration does want to remind Business Expo vendors that no alcohol, tobacco, firearms or drug-related products are permitted on school grounds. The annual Expo is free to the public. Chamber members receive one booth space (10 foot by 6 foot) at no charge. Any additional booth spaces are $40 each. The booth space fee for non-chamber members is $140. Businesses may bring their entry form to the chamber membership luncheon meeting on March 11th to be included in the drawing for the first three “prime” spots. The deadline for businesses to have a booth space for the 2015 Business Expo is March 27th. Business that plan on giving prizes valued at $250 or more are asked to contact the chamber office in order to take full advantage of Expo advertising. There will be food concessions in the cafeteria during the event provided by Project Graduation. The Dent County Cattlemen will hold their Annual meeting Saturday, March 7th at Indian Trail Archery on Highway 19 North in Salem. Registration will begin at 6:00 pm and the ladies of the Sligo United Methodist Church will serve the meal at 6:30 pm. There will be a $7.00 per plate charge. Children under the age of five may eat free. The guest speaker will be Robert Barron from Norbrook, a manufacturer of quality animal health products. Following the speaker will be the drawings for door prizes and an auction to raise funds for the Cattlemen’s scholarship fund. This is also the time to renew your membership. Membership is only $10 and it is payable at this meeting. In recent years there have been a significant number of individuals who have not paid for memberships, but have been kept on the mailing list. Due to the increased cost of postage, those who have not paid for membership will no longer receive mailings. Please RSVP by 4:30 TODAY to the University of Missouri-Dent County Extension Center on the second floor of the Judicial Building on the square or by calling 729-3196 and let them know how many to expect to serve dinner.
