The Salem Tiger Boy’s Basketball team lost to Sullivan in the District Semi-final game Thursday night, 54-35. Jacob Kettner led Salem with 14 points while Cody Whitaker added 13 points. Salem finishes the year with a 13-14 record.
T.J. Oshie and Andy McDonald scored in the shootout, as the St. Louis Blues took down the Nashville Predators, 3-2. Chris Stewart and Vladimir Sobotka lit the lamp in regulation for the Blues, who snapped a four-game skid against Nashville. Jaroslav Halak made 25 saves for St. Louis, which sits four points behind the Red Wings in the Central Division. The Blues will be in Winnipeg to face the Jets Saturday afternoon at 1:00. The third-ranked Missouri Tigers will play at fourth-ranked Kansas in a key Big 12 match-up Saturday afternoon. Missouri is 25-3 on the year and with a win will be in a tie for the lead in the Big 12. You’ll be able to hear the game of KSMO, starting with the pre-game show at 2:30.
Kansas City Royal’s catcher Manny Pina suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee during Wednesday's workout and will need surgery. He is expected to be out at least four weeks.

Alva Ray Johnston of Salem, age 70, passed away on Friday, February 24th. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but are under the direction of the Wilson Mortuary in Salem.
