Jacob Kettner and Dustin Sercl each scored 14 points to lead the Salem Tigers past the Owensville Dutchmen in the first round of the Class 4, District 9 playoff by a score of 52-28. Salem evens their record at 13-13 on the year and they will face Sullivan Thursday night at Union in the semi-final. Rodney McGruder scored 24 points, as Kansas State toppled third-ranked Missouri, 78-68, stopping the Tigers' quest for a perfect home record this season. Michael Dixon scored 21 and Marcus Denmon had 19 for Missouri (25-3, 12-3), which had a 7 game winning streak broken. Missouri will play at Kansas on Saturday.

Funeral services for Sharleen M. Berger of Jadwin, age 68, will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary of Salem. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 tonight. Interment will be in the Empire cemetery in Gladden.
Funeral services for Carl Young of Salem, age 84, will be held Thursday at 2:00 at the Rock Springs Baptist Church near Licking. Visitation will be held tonight from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Fox Funeral Home in Licking.
Funeral services for Leah Tune of Salem, age 96, will be held Saturday at 1:00 at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Salem. Visitation will be from 11:00 until time of service. Interment will be in the North Lawn Cemetery in Salem.
Melvin Thomas Lampley of Salem, age 72, passed away February 19th and was cremated and there will be no service. Arrangements were under the direction of the Wilson Mortuary in Salem.
