The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers lost to the Cuba Lady Wildcats in the first round of the Newburg Tournament in double overtime, 41-40. Salem was led in scoring by Jennifer Herndon with 17 points and during the game, she collected her 1,000 career point as a Lady Tiger. The Lady Tigers will play Licking at 4:00 on Thursday in the Newburg Tournament. Salem is now 9-9 on the year.
The Salem Lady Basketball game with Willow Springs that was postponed Saturday has been rescheduled for Wednesday night starting at 6:00 at Willow Springs.
The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers will be at Willow Springs tonight to face the Bears in SCA play and you can hear the game on KSMO and online at ksmoradio.com. Salem enters the game with a 5-12 record and 0-1 in the SCA.
Marcus Morris scored 22 points with eight rebounds and his twin brother Markieff added 16 points and seven rebounds, as second-ranked Kansas put on an offensive display in a 103-86 waxing of No. 19 Missouri at Allen Fieldhouse. Laurence Bowers scored 12 of his 19 points in the first half when Missouri stayed close. Phil Pressey contributed 17 points and Ricardo Ratliffe compiled 12 for the Tigers (18-6, 4-5), who have lost three of four overall. Missouri will face Oklahoma Saturday at noon.
The St. Louis Blues will take on the Florida Panthers tonight at 6:30. KSMO will air the first period, break away for the Salem game, then play the third period back after the Salem game.
