The Salem Lady Basketball Tigers dropped their fourth straight contest and their second straight SCA game as they dropped a 53-40 decision to the Mountain View-Liberty Eagles. Salem was led by Alayna Sellers with 17 points and Jennifer Herndon added 10 points. The Lady Tigers will face Fatima Monday night at 8:30 in Newburg. They are now 11-9 and 3-2 in the SCA.
The Salem Boys Basketball Tigers will host Willow Springs tonight at the Salem High School Gym. The Junior Varsity will start things out at 6:00 followed by the Varsity game. In between the JV and Varsity game the 2010 Basketball Homecoming Queen will be announced. The homecoming court includes Mackenzie Wulff, sophomore class attendant, junior class attendant, Ashley Jadwin, and the senior homecoming candidates that include Danielle Connell, Houlie Ibrahim and Kayla Meade. Escorts will include basketball players Steven Morton, Phil Moser, Jonathan Hambacker, Andy Kissir and Dex West. Salem is 6-13 on the year and 1-1 in the SCA.
Devin Setoguchi's power-play goal late in the second period proved to be the game-winner, as San Jose continued its winning ways on the road with a 4-2 victory over St. Louis at Scottrade Center. Patrik Berglund and Alexander Steen got the goals for the Blues, who came in flying high off a 3-2 road win over Central Division leader Chicago on Wednesday. However, St. Louis hasn't won back-to-back games since putting together four straight from January 9-16. Ty Conklin recorded 27 saves in defeat. The Blues will host the Chicago Blackhawks Saturday night at 7:00 on KSMO.
The Missouri Basketball Tigers will try to get back on the winning track Saturday at Colorado starting at 2:30. Missouri is 16-6 overall and 4-3 in the Big 12. You can hear the game on KSMO Radio.
