An accident occurred Thursday evening at 9:50 in Crawford County about seven miles south of Steelville on Route AA. According to the highway patrol report, a 2005 Dodge Durango driven by 42-year old Kelly Stroh of Salem was traveling southbound on Route AA. The Dodge traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a post, went through a fence and then came to rest in a field. A passenger, 11-year old Scott Stroh, suffered minor injuries and was transported by the Steelville ambulance to the Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan. He was not wearing a seat restraint at the time of the accident. The Dodge sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

An accident occurred at 4:10 Saturday afternoon in Pulaski County on I-44 at the 150-mile marker west of Waynesville. According to the highway patrol report, 19-year old Ethan Head of Salem fell asleep while driving a 2007 Dodge, causing it to run off the right side of the roadway and strike a cable barrier in the median. Head suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Phelps County Regional Medical Center by the Pulaski County ambulance. He was wearing a seat restraint at the time of the accident. The Dodge sustained extensive damage and was removed from the scene by Rothmund’s Towing.

An accident occurred at 9:55 Saturday night in Dent County on Route K about eleven miles south of Salem. According to the highway patrol report, a 2002 Dodge Caravan driven by 23-year old Jessica Dodson of Salem, ran off the left side of the roadway, overcorrected, began overturning, before coming to rest in the roadway. Dodson suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Salem Memorial District Hospital by the Salem ambulance. She was wearing a seat restraint at the time of the accident. The Dodge Caravan was totaled in the accident and was removed from the scene by Whitaker’s Towing.

The Salem Police Department released their reports. On Friday, January 21^st at 2:00 in the afternoon, an officer made contact with a 25-year old Salem male who had an active warrant from Dent County. He was taken into custody and released to the Dent County Sheriffs Department. On Saturday, January 22^nd at 4:22 in the afternoon, an officer was detailed to a residence in the 200 block of South Warfel in reference to a possible suicide attempt. The investigation of the report revealed that a 29-year old Salem male had taken a drug overdose and was incapacitated. The Salem ambulance responded and the subject was taken to Salem Hospital for treatment. An officer later transported the subject to the Ozark Medical Center in West Plains in lieu of a mental commitment order. On Monday, January 24^th at 3:27 in the afternoon, a vehicle was stopped for an investigation. During the stop the driver of the vehicle, a 30-year old Salem male was arrested for driving while having their license suspended. He was issued a summons to appear in court and was released. On Tuesday, January 25^th at 9:30 at night, an officer transported a 22-year old male of Lanagan, Missouri, to the Ozark Medical Center in West Plains in lieu of a mental commitment order. At 10:16 that same night, an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of South Jackson in reference to a theft. The investigation of the report revealed that a person or persons unknown took items valued at $1,224. Then at 10:54 the same night, an officer was detailed to a residence in the 1600 block of South Highway 19 in reference to a prowler. The investigation of the report led to the arrest of a 42-year old Salem male for property damage. He was issued a summons to appear in court and was released. On Wednesday, January 26^th at 11:22 in the morning, an officer took a report of a lost or stolen license plate. The handicapped plate belonged to a red 1996 Dodge truck and is believed to have been lost or stolen between Salem and Columbia, sometime on Sunday, January 23^rd. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will be completing drainage work in Crawford County on Route 49, from Adams County Road to Wihitte County Road, and from Route 19 to Route V beginning today.  Weather permitting, crews and equipment will be on the roadway between 6:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Drainage work is needed to keep the roadway dry and maintain stability and proper drainage of water from the travel lanes. While performing this function, crews and equipment are located directly on or near the roadway.
