The Dent County Commissioners met Thursday morning at the Dent County Courthouse for their regular meeting. In the road report, District One Commissioner Dennis Purcell said that workers would be repairing the creek crossing on Dent County Road 5520 as well as getting the equipment ready for the predicted snowfall. He also said the transmission has gone out on truck #66 and they will assess the cost of the repair work before doing anything to see if it is worth repairing. District Two Commissioner Gary Larson said that the workers would be putting up some signs that are down and would be getting the equipment ready for the snow. He also said that truck #114 is still not running and work will continue on it. Presiding Commissioner Darrell Skiles said that the county received a response on the $410 bill from the hotel for the jurors for the Nash trial. The invoice said that the hotel provided a meeting room at $50 per night for five nights, and charged $1.00 per bottle for soda and water for 150 bottles which still doesn’t add up to the $410 billed. Skiles also said that there would be no meeting next Thursday, as the commissioners will be in training. Commissioner Purcell then made a motion to purchase a 2006 Ford F-150, four-wheel drive pickup for the Road and Bridge Department for $8,000 from Quality Auto in Rolla. Commissioner Larson seconded the motion and all the commissioners agreed to the purchase. The next meeting of the Dent County Commissioners will be Monday morning at the Dent County Courthouse and the meeting is open to the public.
