The Dent County Sheriff’s Department released their reports for the first part of January. In the early morning of January 4th, a search warrant was served at a residence located in Lecoma. The search warrant was obtained by the South Central Task Force and served with the assistance of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Dent County Sheriff’s Department. Taken into evidence as a result were various items of drug paraphernalia, scales, glass smoking devices, small plastic baggies, syringes and various items associated with the use and production of methamphetamine. Various items were field-tested and produced positive results for methamphetamine. Taken into custody were 32-year old Kristina Dondlinger and 42-year old John Stogsdill Jr. Warrants were obtained with charges of two counts for manufacturing or production or the attempt to manufacture or produce less than five grams of marijuana in a residence with child, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child in the 1st degree, and one count of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia-amphetamine/methamphetamine Both remain in the Dent County Jail with bond set at $50,000. On January 4th at 4:15 in the afternoon, the Dent County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a burglary reported to have occurred sometime during the last half of December at a residence located off of Highway O. Entry was gained by cutting a chain on a gate and removing a lock from an outbuilding. Reported taken from the building was gasoline from a tractor and an electric meter had been removed and phone lines had also been cut. Anyone with any information regarding the burglary is asked to please contact the Dent County Sheriff’s Department by calling 729-3241.

The Salem TCRC will present a Workshop entitled “Choosing a Website Developer” on Tuesday, January 30 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The workshop will cover the steps involved in developing a website and will include information on local resources for businesses interested in having a website developed for them versus doing it themselves. City of Salem Economic Development Director Sharon Tubbs says local businesses are often interested in having a website but may not have the time or expertise to develop a website on their own.  This workshop will help those businesses wanting information about the website development process and what local resources are available. The Salem TCRC is located in the Salem Freedom Activity Center at 1200 W. Rolla Road. To register or for additional information, please contact the Salem TCRC at (573) 729-8163. This workshop is co-sponsored by the City of Salem Economic Development Department and there is a charge to attend.

In an emotional game at the Salem High School Gymnasium, the Tigers rallied to beat the Sullivan Eagles by the score of 52-47. The crowd observed a moment of silence before the game to honor Tammy Davis, Jennifer Wisdom and Beulah Sellers who were killed the previous day in a car crash. Behind the spirited play of Jordan Davis, playing in honor of his mom, the Tigers won their third straight game. Davis scored 11 points, Taylor Sirois added 13 more and C.J. Smith scored 10 for Salem who is now 6-7 on the year. The Tigers will begin their SCA schedule on Friday against Cabool.

The Salem Tigers are seeded 4th in the upcoming St. James Tournament and they will face Rolla Monday, January 15th at 6:00. If Salem wins, they will play on Friday, January 18th at 8:00. If they lose they will play Thursday night at 7:30.

The Missouri Basketball Tigers will be at Texas tonight to face the Longhorns starting at 6:30.
Missouri is 11-3 on the year, 0-1 in the Big 12, and you can hear the game on KSMO Radio.

Lee Stempniak was credited with the game- winning goal in the shootout to lift the St. Louis Blues over the Columbus Blue Jackets, 4-3, at Nationwide Arena. Bill Guerin, Keith Tkachuk and Martin Rucinsky scored in regulation for the Blues, who have won four of their last six games. Goaltender Manny Legace made 19 saves while Stempniak also notched two assists in the win. St. Louis is 5-10-4 on the road this season and they will be in New Jersey tonight to fce the Devils at 6:30. KSMO will air the third period after Missouri Tiger Basketball.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced that center fielder Jim Edmonds underwent surgery to correct a "hammer toe" condition of the second toe on his left foot on Tuesday. This was Edmonds' second surgery this off season as the 36-year-old also underwent successful right shoulder surgery in November. Dr. Bob Anderson performed the procedure on Edmonds' toe and the former Gold Glove winner is expected to be ready for the start of the season.

Two-time Most Valuable Player Cal Ripken Jr. and eight-time batting champion Tony Gwynn were announced Tuesday as the newest members of the Baseball Hall of Fame. The two will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on July 29 in Cooperstown, New York.

Funeral services for Eddie White, of Salem, age 66, will be held today at 11:00 at the Wilson Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Funeral services for Wesley G. Christy of Salem, age 75, will be held today at 1:00 at the James & Gahr Chapel in Salem. Visitation will be from 11:00 until service time. Interment will be in the Camp Butler Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois.

A Memorial service for Evelyn G. Siddens Rogers of Rolla, age 85, will be held Thursday at 11:00 at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Rolla. Interment will be in the Rolla City Cemetery. All arrangements are under the direction of the James and Gahr Mortuary of Rolla.

Funeral services for Carl Price of Salem, age 34, will be held Thursday at 1:00 at the Wilson Mortuary. Visitation will be from 10:00 until service time. Interment will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Carl Price Family.

Funeral services for Tammy J. Davis of Salem, age 46, will be Saturday morning at 11:00 at he Grace Community Church. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 8:00. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Student Ministries at Grace Community Church. All arrangements are under the direction of the Wilson Mortuary.

Funeral services for Jennifer Wisdom of Salem, age 46, will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 at the Grace Community Church. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 8:00. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. All arrangements are under the direction of the Wilson Mortuary.

Funeral services for Beulah Sellers of Salem, age 88, are incomplete at this time but are under the direction of the Dent County Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services for Glenn Copeland of Bunker, age 50, are incomplete at this time but under the direction of the McSpadden Funeral Home in Bunker.

Funeral services for Gary McConnell of Salem, are incomplete at this time but under the direction of the Dent County Chapel.
